Your child will have homework during the week in different areas of the curriculum. Homework strengthens basic skills and develops responsibility. Your child will have an agenda book that will be taken home each night. Homework assignments and other information will be recorded in it by your child. Please check the agenda daily and put your initials by the date. Please have your child return his/her homework the next morning as well as the agenda. Also, sometimes I feel it best to send unfinished daily jobs home instead of carrying these assignments over to the next day. I would be glad to speak with you if you have questions concerning homework. |

LUNCH/SNACK
|
LUNCH will be from 12:45-1:15 and then RECESS from 1:15-1:45.
We will SNACK mid-morning. If you send in a snack, please make it a simple nutritious one. |

BIRTHDAYS
|
Birthdays are important to the children at Birch Grove School. Students are not allowed to bring food items to school on their birthdays. However, if you would like to recognize your child's special day, you may send in non-food items such as pencils, board games for indoor recess, or donate a book to our classroom library. This is up to you and child. We will always sing Happy Birthday at our Morning Meeting.

MISCELLANEOUS
|
The children may bring in water bottles to leave on their desks.
Book orders will be sent home throughout the year. You are under no obligation to purchase these books. Your child should always keep a book of choice in his/her backpack. This book can be read in the classroom and at the end of the day while waiting for buses. Toys should be left at home unless brought in for sharing at our Morning Meeting. |
