Homework provides a way for first graders to begin to develop time-management skills, independence, and responsibility for their work. It allows an opportunity for children to practice their skills, and for families to be involved in their child’s education.
In addition to nightly reading Monday through Thursday (books will be sent home in reading bags daily beginning in mid-September), short written homework is assigned weekly (skill practice). Students will bring their homework home in their yellow "Daily Folder" on Mondays and return it back to school on Fridays.
